A Nature Writing Retreat by Mulshi Lake

Imagine spending a week by Mulshi lake, surrounded by fruit trees and valleys of the Western Ghats, inspired by the call of birds, and forming a quiet companionship with passionate nature writers from all over India.
One of these writers could be you.

Dip your feet into nature
writing by Mulshi Lake

At Bound’s Nature Writing Retreat, sixteen handpicked writers will spend 3 days exploring the Western Ghats and finding inspiration in the quiet beauty of Mulshi.

Turn your observations and experiences into vivid, engaging narratives with conservation biologist and award-winning author Neha Sinha. Her acclaimed book Wild and Wilful brought India’s iconic species to life, while her forthcoming Wild Capital (HarperCollins, 2026) explores the hidden wildlife of cities. A columnist for leading national dailies and a powerful voice for conservation, Neha’s work celebrates the extraordinary in the everyday, whether birds, rivers, or wasps. Besides, she helps writers see how close attention to the natural world can transform into unforgettable storytelling.

The Mentor

Neha Sinha

Neha Sinha is a conservation biologist and author. She is the author of the critically acclaimed Wild and Wilful : Tales of 15 Iconic Indian Species. She has received awards for both her conservation work and her writing. She writes popular columns for national dailies, and her social media is a place to discover the wild, local, and wonderful. Neha believes that non-fiction is stranger than fiction, and in the therapeutic and transformative power of nature. Her writing focuses on both the extraordinary and the ordinary, and understanding how we can change through great writing and reading. She has studied literature and conservation science and is passionate about shining a spotlight on ugly animals, lost causes, and embracing the weird. In her writing, you will find wasps, tigers, plants, and living a life of meaning, where observation becomes a deeply meaningful ritual. Her book, Wild Capital, on the wildlife of Delhi and urban areas, is forthcoming with HarperCollins in 2026.

The Venue

Fragrant Sun by the Lake, Mulshi
Perched on a quiet slope in Mulshi’s lush Sahyadri foothills, Fragrant Sun is a beautiful set of cottages overlooking Mulshi lake. Built as a private family retreat, this villa was born from a deep love for nature, solitude, and slow living.
Surrounded by fruit trees and vegetable patches, the bustle of Mumbai feels far away. Trek through forested trails, watch the sun dip into Mulshi Lake, or simply do nothing at all. In every creaking wooden door and sun-dappled courtyard, there’s a story waiting to unfold.
