Tata Sons Archival Project

- Keeping a Legacy Alive

We are building this centralised archive of stories, anecdotes, and documented moments from across Tata’s companies, figures, and milestones.

Phase 1: Archiving knowledge from all published books on Tata.

Our writers read through published books on Tata and cull out interesting and significant events. Each event is written like a story (500-800 words each) with a narrative arc and a thread that connects back to who Tata is today.

We’re working on 30 published books on Tata. And have added over 100 stories to the archive.

Not just preserving history, but making it usable

Internally, the archive is a knowledge base that gives Tata teams, employees, and stakeholders a shared, reliable understanding of Tata’s history.

  • A chronological timeline of Tata’s expansion
  • A synthesis of how key decisions were made and the socio-economic and political events that influenced them
  • A source of verified, fact-checked, accurate information

Externally, it functions as a practical tool for building brand legacy. The stories written can be directly used for social platforms, PR, and marketing.

The archive is built with a comprehensive cataloguing system that helps them find specific information quickly. Every entry is tagged by individual, year, theme, company, and value. Citations are included for anyone who wants to go back to the source material.

What have to say

“Thanks a lot for working so hard on this assignment. The outcome is simply fantastic, as was expected.”
