How is dialogue writing for film, TV or web series different - and how is it similar?
In this course, hopefully, one will discover tools and techniques that can be applied across all three mediums. We will do a few in -class dialogue writing exercises, watch a few clips and understand how dialogue can feel most natural to the characters of that particular story in that particular genre.
ABOUT THE INSTRUCTOR
Ishita Moitra is a prominent screenwriter based in Mumbai.
Some of her works include dialogue for the series – Four More Shots Please, The Test Case and Romil and Jugal. She has also written dialogue for films like Noor, Mere Dad Ki Maruti, Half Girlfriend, Maska and the upcoming Shakuntala Devi Biopic starring Vidya Balan. In her spare time, she trains in Hindustani Classical music and loves to sing away the blues.

It was an amazing experience. I had just wanted to explore something new for fun but the takeaways were immense. I gained a lot of insight into what makes a character, how their dialogues reflect their entire being, what it means to go inside their mind, and a lot more. It was really fun to recreate movie scenes and characters I've grown up watching and I think the insight I gained will help me in every other form of writing as well.
