How To Turn Your Book Into A Bestseller
Have you written a book, or do you want to write one? Do you have your plot, characters, settings, and dialogue written or conceptualised? Are you wondering what comes next? The ‘How to Make a Bestseller’ masterclass will take you through the process of transforming a manuscript into a bestseller before you reach out to a publisher.
This author-focused session will equip you with the tools to turn your manuscript into one that appeals to publishers. This class will showcase specific writing, editing and marketing tricks that can help you improve your manuscript.
During the three-hour session, you will get an insight into how bestsellers are made. You will learn how to think of making a hit while writing it. You will learn about identifying your audience and catering to them. You will also gain the tools to write the perfect pitch to present your manuscript to a publisher.
All participants must bring a ready manuscript or book idea to workshop during the session.

Preeti Lourdes John is an editor and editorial manager with experience setting up and leading editorial teams at reputed digital organisations. She is currently Deputy Editor at the Observer Research Foundation, and has previously worked with The Economist Group, The Quint and The Wire. She has mentored writers in the newsroom and the literary setting, and has taught undergraduate and graduate courses on writing and communications. At present, she also works with one of India’s largest publishing houses as a manuscript reviewer, and with The Write Women Project, a women-focused Instagram-only literary agency.
Radhika Raje heads the marketing team at one of India’s leading publishing houses. She has more than six years of experience handling authors and books. After being involved editorially in newspapers like Free Press Journal and magazines like Time Out India and Man's World, Radhika has opted to work with books and to promote reading as a culture. She actively supports The Write Women Project (an Instagram-only literary agency), which encourages women authors to get published.
